Manchester City’s experienced defender, Kyle Walker, is preparing to join Everton on a one-year deal.
The England international has been in talks with Everton since he returned from his recent loan spell at AC Milan. Both clubs are still discussing whether the move will be a permanent transfer or a short-term loan that allows him to finish the final year of his current Manchester City contract.
At 35 years old, Walker has enjoyed a hugely successful time at City. He collected 17 major trophies, including six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, and the Champions League.
Despite having another year left on his contract, Walker was left out of City’s Club World Cup squad and is no longer part of Pep Guardiola’s future plans for the team.
A source close to the club said, “Kyle has given everything for the club. He played a key role in City’s success, but after a difficult season, it’s time to rebuild.”
Walker’s journey with City started in 2017, when he moved from Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth £50 million. His expected transfer to Everton marks the end of an eight-year era filled with trophies and memorable moments.
