Nigerian footballers Daniel Amokachi and Alex Iwobi have been honoured by Everton as their goals were named among the best ever scored at Goodison Park.
Everton is getting ready to leave Goodison Park, which has been the club’s home for 133 years. This move marks the end of a long and historic era for the team.
From next season, the club will start playing its home matches at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium.
To celebrate the memories made at Goodison, Everton created a list of the 60 most unforgettable goals ever scored at the stadium.
One of the goals included in the list was Amokachi’s powerful strike against Newcastle United in April 1995. It was remembered as one of the standout moments.
Alex Iwobi’s last-minute goal in a match against the same team in March 2022 was also featured in the collection of best goals.
Although Amokachi scored 25 goals for Everton during his time there, only this one strike made it onto the list, showing just how special that goal was.
