Lady recounts how PHCN restored power to their neighborhood after her aunt and some women led a protest at their office

A Nigerian woman recently shared a story about how electricity was restored in her neighborhood after her aunt and some other women took action. They had been without power for some time and decided to go to the PHCN office to protest.

The women were frustrated with the long power outage and marched to the PHCN office to express their anger. They demanded that the electricity should be brought back to their area.

One of the women, the narrator’s aunt, went with her baby in hand and spoke directly to the PHCN manager. She explained that the heat in their home was becoming too much for her baby and it was starting to affect the child’s health.

The manager tried to explain that the transformer in their area might be damaged. But the women did not accept that excuse. They insisted that there was nothing wrong with the transformer and that PHCN was simply not supplying power.

In a bold move, the woman’s aunt also told the manager that the heat was affecting her marriage. She said her husband had refused to be intimate with her at night because the house was too hot without power.
