Transfer: Al-Hilal president, Bin Nafal reveals why they failed to sign Osimhen

Al-Hilal president Fahad Bin Nafal has shared why the club couldn’t sign Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen and other top footballers this summer.

He pointed out two main reasons behind their failed transfers: unrealistic demands from players and the fact that many were too tired to think about new deals right after the season ended.

Even though Al-Hilal brought in Simone Inzaghi as their new coach — just days after he led Inter Milan in the Champions League final — they still couldn’t attract some of their top targets.

Big names like Osimhen, AC Milan’s Theo Hernandez, and Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes all turned down their offers. The club also tried to bring in Cristiano Ronaldo, but he chose to stay with rivals Al-Nassr, even though Al-Hilal could offer a spot in the Club World Cup.

“We contacted many players,” Bin Nafal said, “but they needed rest after a long and difficult season.”

He also mentioned that before the World Cup, they tried to make some signings, but didn’t have enough time to complete the deals. On top of that, some of the counter-offers from players were not reasonable, making it even harder for the club to reach agreements.
