Ex Face of Delta Beauty Queen, May Ekayoda nonprofit organization – MEHOPE foundation offers support, resources and advocacy to the needy

May Ekayoda, the former Face of Delta Beauty Queen (2014/2015), is much more than a beauty queen. She’s a Nigerian-Canadian Certified Home Stager, Interior Designer, businesswoman, and someone who truly cares about people. She started a nonprofit organization called MEHOPE—which stands for May Ekayoda Helping Orphans & Protecting the Elderly. This group was born from her deep passion for helping people who are often forgotten.

Even before MEHOPE became official, May had already been making a difference. While she wore the beauty queen crown, she also led several outreach projects. Her focus was always on supporting orphans, women in need, and elderly people. These groups meant a lot to her then—and they still do today.

May’s desire to help others began at a young age. Growing up, she saw how hard life was for widows, single mothers, orphans, and older women in her community. These early experiences touched her heart deeply and made her feel responsible for doing something to help.

What started as simple, kind actions eventually grew into a much bigger mission. These small beginnings helped form what MEHOPE is today—a nonprofit built on love, purpose, and the will to make a lasting difference.

May created MEHOPE as a safe place for people who are often ignored by society. She believes that helping women who are struggling, and caring for both the young and the elderly, can create strong and positive changes that will last for generations.

Now, MEHOPE is known as a charity based on real action and compassion. Through this foundation, May continues to bring her dream to life. The organization gives support, shares useful resources, and stands up for people in need. Every person touched by MEHOPE is made to feel important, loved, and empowered.
