The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has said that democracy is now a strong part of Nigeria’s system of government.
He made this known while celebrating this year’s Democracy Day.
A statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Dave Agboola, was shared with the media on Thursday.
In the statement, Obasa repeated that democracy has come to stay in the country.
He explained that every Nigerian has played a part in making democracy work.
Obasa also encouraged Nigerians to get more involved in the democratic process.
He asked people in Lagos to continue believing in democracy and to understand how important they are in building better communities.
Obasa praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for working to improve security, grow the economy, and support communities across the country.
He said democracy will stay in Nigeria and that everyone has a part to play. He reminded Nigerians that their voices and their votes matter.
He added that by working together, people can help make sure the government delivers on its promises.
Obasa ended by asking Nigerians to keep supporting the current government, saying efforts are being made to bring the benefits of democracy to all citizens.
