They went too far – Elon Musk says he regrets some of his social media posts about President Donald Trump

Tech billionaire Elon Musk recently said he regrets some of the things he posted on social media about U.S. President Donald Trump. Musk admitted that his posts last week went too far and that he should not have said some of those things.

Musk shared this apology on his social media platform called X. He said he felt sorry for how he spoke about the president online.

This happened after Trump warned Musk that there could be serious consequences if Musk tried to punish Republican lawmakers who support a spending bill backed by Trump.

After this public fight, Tesla, Musk’s company, lost a lot of its value in the stock market — the biggest loss ever. But since then, the company’s shares have started to go back up.

The argument started because Musk did not agree with a tax and spending bill that Trump supports. This bill is called the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.”

The fight got worse when Musk posted strong claims that linked Trump to Jeffrey Epstein, a financier who died while in jail awaiting trial for sex crimes.

Musk said it was “time to drop the really big bomb,” meaning he claimed that Trump’s name was in secret government files about Epstein that were not made public.

He told people to save that post and said the truth would be revealed later.

However, by Saturday, Musk deleted those posts without saying why.

Trump responded by calling the claims old and untrue. He said even Epstein’s lawyer said Trump was not involved in anything bad.

Trump also warned Musk that he would face serious problems if he tried to support other candidates against Republicans who agree with Trump.

Trump made it clear that he does not want to make peace with Musk. He said he has no plans to talk to him anytime soon.
