Nollywood actress Rosy Meurer has responded to claims that her husband, Olakunle Churchill, has been abusing her at home.
The rumors started spreading online and reminded people of when Churchill’s ex-wife, Tonto Dikeh, once accused him of violence during their marriage.
Rosy took to Instagram to clear the air. She strongly denied the claims, right after her husband also called them false.
She said that if she stays quiet, others will twist her story in ways that make them look believable. In today’s world, she said, it’s important to stand up and speak for yourself.
According to Rosy, she usually ignores gossip. But this time, she felt she had to speak out because she has a family and children who look up to her. She made it clear that only she has the right to share what happens in her life.
Rosy also hit back at people who seem to want her marriage to be filled with violence. She said some of those people might even have women in their own families suffering abuse.
She believes the media sometimes creates false stories just to get people talking, especially when things are quiet online.
Rosy ended her post by saying her husband is not someone who beats women. In fact, she joked that he often struggles to say what’s on his mind, let alone hurt someone. She said the claims are just old lies being brought up again to create drama.
