2026 World Cup: 10 countries qualify for tournament

At least 10 countries have already secured their spots for the 2026 World Cup.

On Thursday, Jordan and Uzbekistan qualified for the tournament for the first time. South Korea also made sure they will take part in the World Cup for the 11th time in a row.

Uzbekistan played to a 0-0 draw against the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi.

This result was enough for Uzbekistan to finish second in Group A, just behind Iran, and qualify automatically with one match still to play.

Now, Jordan, Uzbekistan, Japan, New Zealand, Iran, and Argentina have all booked their places for the 2026 World Cup.

The three host nations — USA, Canada, and Mexico — also have automatic entry into the tournament.

Besides the six teams who qualified directly from Asia, the UAE and Qatar are in third and fourth place in their group and will move on to the next round.

In that next round, six teams will compete for two final spots in the 2026 World Cup.
