Actress Patience Ozokwo responds after being accused of taking widow’s land because she has no son

A woman named Ngozi Okonkwo Ike and her daughter Ebere Okonkwo Ike, who are from Amechi Idodo in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, have come out in several viral videos. In the videos, they accused Patience Ozokwo of taking their family land after their father died.

According to Ebere, her mother is seriously sick, and they needed money from the land their father left behind. She said her mother has only two daughters and no son, which is why they believe their land was taken away from them unfairly. Ebere said if anything bad happens to her mother, people should blame the actress.

She also accused one of their late father’s relatives of betraying them. This relative was supposed to help watch over the land but instead, Ebere says, he secretly sold it to Patience Ozokwo.

They only discovered this when her mother needed treatment for her leg and decided to sell the land, only to learn it had already been sold. In the viral videos, the widow is seen using crutches, and her leg looks badly affected, even turning black from the illness.

In response to these claims, Patience Ozokwo said she legally bought the land in 2010. She said the people who sold it to her are now trying to take it back, which is why this issue has come up after so many years.

To clear the air, Patience Ozokwo brought out the man who helped arrange the land sale at that time. In a video she shared, the man explained that the widow’s late husband was his relative. He said after the man passed away, the widow came to him for help to sell the land so she could afford medical care and give her husband a proper burial.

He added that when he couldn’t find a buyer, he reached out to Patience Ozokwo, who was living abroad then. She agreed to buy the land, and the widow agreed to the sale.

Patience Ozokwo now says the widow and her daughter are trying to ruin her name with false accusations. She described their actions as “blackmail, fraud, and malicious”, and said she is ready to face them in court.
