Why I might not raise my kids in Nigeria – Falz

Popular Nigerian rapper and activist, Falz, recently opened up about why he might not want to raise his children in Nigeria.

Falz explained that his activism has put him in danger, and combined with the country’s security problems and economic difficulties, it makes raising kids in Nigeria a tough choice.

He talked about this on the Dear Ife Series Podcast, hosted by Ifedayo Agoro, where he was invited as a guest.

During the podcast, Ifedayo asked Falz a direct question: “If you were to have children, would you raise them in Nigeria?”

Falz admitted that it was a hard question and something he hadn’t really thought about before.

He shared that because of the current insecurity in the country, the threats he faces for speaking out, and how many Nigerians accept the problems without challenging them, he finds it difficult to say yes to raising children in Nigeria.

However, Falz also said he can’t fully say no either. He loves Nigeria and believes the country has the potential to improve. He wasn’t sure what he would decide and said, “let’s see,” with a laugh.

At the moment, Falz is single and does not have children yet.

This honest answer from Falz reflects the concerns many Nigerians have about the future and the challenges of raising children in the country today.
