Ayo Maff, a young Nigerian music star, revealed that he moved out of his parents’ house in Shomolu, Lagos, when he was just 16 years old.
The singer spoke about his early life, saying it was filled with struggles and challenges.
Now 19 years old, Ayo Maff said he left home because he wanted to do something big for his family. He felt he needed to work hard to change their situation.
In a recent interview with Hip TV, Ayo explained that being the oldest child in his family pushed him to take responsibility early. He said, “It wasn’t easy at home, so I had to leave when I was 16.”
He also shared that life in Shomolu was a mix of hardship, fun, and excitement. According to him, the experiences from that environment helped shape the kind of music he makes today.
Ayo Maff said he stayed with a friend for more than a year after leaving home. His mother was worried at first, but he told her he would keep visiting and checking in on the family.
