Cristiano Ronaldo to announce Al-Nassr exit today as he turns down the club’s £167MILLION-per-year contract offer

Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to announce today that he will leave his club, Al-Nassr.

Earlier this week, Ronaldo gave fans a strong hint that he might be leaving. He posted on social media saying, “this chapter is over,” which made many believe his time with the club is ending.

After Al-Nassr finished third in their league, Ronaldo wrote on his X account, “This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.” This showed he is thankful but ready for a new start.

Nobody knows exactly where Ronaldo will play next. Some believe he could move to the MLS in the United States, go to Brazil, Turkey, Sporting Lisbon, or even join another team in Saudi Arabia.

Ronaldo was very close to signing a new deal with Al-Nassr worth a huge £167 million per year. But at the last moment, he decided not to accept the offer.

During his time playing in the Middle East, Ronaldo scored 99 goals for Al-Nassr, proving he made a big impact there.

The Spanish sports news website Marca says the club will soon hold a press conference to officially confirm Ronaldo’s exit.

Meanwhile, reports from talkSPORT say that Al-Nassr want to sign Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, who has a contract until 2027, making him their top target.

Now 40 years old, Ronaldo is focused on reaching 1,000 career goals. So far, he has scored 936 goals and needs a few more seasons of playing regularly to reach this impressive milestone.

There is also talk that Ronaldo might join Al-Nassr’s rival club, Al-Hilal. This team will compete in the new version of the Club World Cup.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino recently surprised many when he said Ronaldo might still play in the upcoming Club World Cup this summer, even though Al-Nassr did not qualify.

Infantino explained, “Ronaldo might play for one of the teams at the Club World Cup. Discussions are happening.”

He added, “If any club is interested in signing Ronaldo for the Club World Cup… who knows?” This keeps Ronaldo’s future open and full of possibilities.
