Real Betis star Isco has opened up about why his team lost badly to Chelsea in the Europa Conference League final. The match ended 4-1 in Chelsea’s favor on Wednesday night.
Isco said his team played well in the first half but didn’t take their chances. He admitted that they slowed down after a good start, and that allowed Chelsea to come back strong.
Betis took an early lead through a goal from Abde Ezzalzouli. However, they missed the chance to add more goals before the halftime break.
After that, Chelsea completely took over the second half. They scored four goals through Enzo Fernández, Nicolas Jackson, Jadon Sancho, and Moisés Caicedo.
“We were solid in the first half, and Chelsea didn’t create many chances,” said Isco.
He added that the team didn’t make the most of their early goal, which has been a problem for them throughout the season. In big matches like this, small mistakes can lead to big punishments.
“In the second half, Chelsea were just too strong. It’s a painful loss for us,” Isco said.
