JAMB disowns circulating messages asking candidates to reprint slips

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has warned students about fake messages being shared online. These messages tell candidates of the 2025 UTME to reprint their exam slips for a resit. JAMB has made it clear that these messages are not from them.

Some of the fake messages look like they came from JAMB’s official shortcode, 66019. But the board said the code was faked, and the information in those messages is not true.

Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, spoke on behalf of the board. He said that JAMB is not responsible for the false messages and asked the public to ignore them completely.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board wishes to draw the public’s attention to misleading messages being circulated through a spoofed version of its 66019 shortcode,” the statement read.

These messages instruct candidates—some of whom have already taken the resit examination and received their results—to reprint their examination slips for another resit.

We categorically state that these messages are not from JAMB. There are currently no scheduled examinations. Candidates who have completed the resit and received their results should disregard such fraudulent messages, which are intended to create confusion.”

JAMB also explained that the only UTME exam that hasn’t been scheduled yet is for candidates outside Nigeria. These international exams will be held in nine countries across Europe, the Middle East, and parts of Africa. Additionally, JAMB will organize a mop-up exam for students who missed the main UTME or resit exam. This includes candidates who were allowed to skip the biometric verification due to technical issues.

“We urge the public to disregard these deceptive messages. Eligible candidates for the mop-up exam will be officially notified once arrangements are finalized,” the statement concluded.
