Ladies Who Wear Leg Chains Are Prostitutes,’ Says Pastor Ibiyeomie

Pastor David Ibiyeomie, the leader of Salvation Ministries, has spoken out against what he calls the rising trend of young women dressing in ways that are not proper. During a recent sermon at the church’s main headquarters, he warned women about wearing leg chains and said they should be careful about copying fashion without knowing what it really means.

He told his listeners, “Many want to look trendy, but they don’t understand what their clothes say about them.” This message was shared on social media by Church Times Nigeria.

Pastor Ibiyeomie specifically talked about leg chains, saying that women who wear them are showing they are prostitutes. He explained that leg chains originally mean, “You are offering love, you are not officially with anyone but you are ready.” He said wearing leg chains is not just fashion—it is like advertising prostitution.

He urged young women to avoid such fashion trends and live by godly values. He also criticized women who show private parts of their bodies, saying it is careless and wrong to do so in the name of fashion. “You show your breasts and then complain that people are looking at you,” he said.

The pastor also spoke against wearing see-through clothes that reveal underwear, calling it a sign of bad morals. His strong words have led to many reactions—some people agree with him, while others think his comments are too harsh.

He ended by reminding everyone, “The way you dress affects how others will treat you.”

Earlier this year, Pastor Ibiyeomie caused controversy when he said Jesus did not spend time with poor people and advised Christians to avoid close ties with them. These earlier comments also sparked debates on social media and within churches.
