Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has shared a deep message about himself. He said the old version of him is no longer alive. This message was directed at fans who are finding it hard to accept the changes in him.
He made this known through a post on the Instagram page for his upcoming album, No Sign Of Weakness. In the post, Burna Boy said it was Nigerians who caused the “death” of the older version of him.
He explained that inside him, the new and old versions are always in a fight. It’s not just a physical change, but an emotional one too.
According to him, the part of him known as the “African Giant” is gone. He said, “His own people killed him.” After that, a new side of him called Big 7 was born. This version exists to protect what’s left of Burna Boy’s heart.
However, even this new version comes with struggles. Burna Boy shared that Big 7 and his past self still fight inside him. While Big 7 is trying to protect the last piece of his broken heart, the memory of the African Giant continues to haunt him.
With his new album coming soon, Burna Boy is showing a more emotional and personal side, reminding fans that every artist is also human — always changing, always growing.
