PDP S’East stakeholders reject Odefa, affirm Anyanwu as National Scribe, Egwu NVC

Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South East have spoken out against a recent meeting held at the Enugu State Government House. The meeting was led by Chief Ali Odefa, who claims to still be the National Vice Chairman of the PDP in the region. However, the stakeholders have declared that any decisions made during that meeting are not valid.

On Tuesday, the South East PDP leaders held their own meeting in Abuja. This meeting was led by Hon. Chidiebere Goodluck Egwu, who is now recognized as the new National Vice Chairman for the South East zone. The leaders at the meeting also confirmed their support for Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the National Secretary of the party.

Important party leaders attended the Abuja meeting, including former Abia State Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, Senator Michael Nnachi, Senator Paulinus Nwagu, and several other party officials. They repeated their demand that the National Working Committee (NWC) must obey the Supreme Court ruling, which clearly confirmed Senator Anyanwu’s position as National Secretary.

After the meeting, a communique was released. In it, the leaders told the public and PDP members to ignore the Enugu meeting organized by Odefa, who they described as an expelled party official.

They also called for new party congresses to be held in Ebonyi and Anambra States. According to them, these states do not have proper State Working Committees, and the issue needs to be fixed quickly.

The leaders reminded everyone about past court rulings that suspended and expelled Odefa from the party. They also asked the Zonal Working Committee to take legal action against him for going against the court’s decisions.

Lastly, they called on all PDP members to support the efforts of Senator Bukola Saraki’s reconciliation committee. They believe this is the best way to bring peace and unity back to the party, especially in the South East zone.
