‘Tinubu govt all about Yorubas’ – Naja’atu Mohammed

A northern female politician, Hajiya Naja’atu Mohammed, has accused President Bola Tinubu of running a government that only benefits people from the Yoruba ethnic group.

She believes that Tinubu is mainly using Nigeria’s national funds to improve the South-West region, where he comes from.

Naja’atu shared her thoughts during the first episode of the Political Advantage Platform (PAP) podcast, hosted by Hadiza Malumfashi.

Although she was critical, she said she has nothing personal against President Tinubu.

She explained that Tinubu’s leadership is focused on promoting regional interests, especially those of his own people, while ignoring the goal of national unity. She also said he is failing to solve key national problems.

According to her, one major reason why Nigeria is facing economic hardship is because the President does not listen to the voices of everyday Nigerians.

“I don’t hate Tinubu, but it’s obvious that his government is by Yorubas, for Yorubas,” she said.

She went further to say Tinubu is spending national resources mostly on his region instead of spreading development fairly across the country.

Naja’atu warned that this type of leadership could divide Nigeria into different ethnic zones, where each group wants to rule itself.

She also pointed out that when a government ignores the people and only listens to outsiders, the result is a damaged economy and more suffering.

As someone who once worked on Tinubu’s presidential campaign, Naja’atu said Nigeria cannot grow unless the issue of insecurity is solved.

She said many Nigerians had high hopes when Tinubu became President, especially because of his past as Lagos State governor. But now, she feels his administration has been a big disappointment.
