After weeks of silence, Pastor David Favour Love, the husband of late Shimite Love, has broken his silence following her shocking death and the accusations made against him.

Shimite Love was 48 years old and worked as a Special Adviser to the Governor of Delta State on Trade and Export. She sadly passed away early on Monday, April 21, 2025.

Following her death, social media and some news platforms were filled with rumors. Some people claimed that Shimite may have died due to domestic violence.

The Delta State Police spoke on the matter through their spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe. He confirmed that Shimite’s family went to the police with concerns, suggesting her husband may have been involved in her death.

The police also mentioned that Pastor David was placed under protective custody. This happened after he told authorities that members of Shimite’s family were threatening him.

According to what Pastor David told the police, his wife became seriously ill and sadly didn’t survive.

On Tuesday, May 20, Pastor David finally spoke out through several posts on Instagram. He mourned his wife deeply, calling her his personal and special Angel.

He explained that he could no longer remain quiet as many untrue stories were being spread about how his wife died.

Pastor David also shared that Shimite’s family allegedly broke into his home and took away their marriage certificate.

He added another claim — that a registrar based in Abuja told him Shimite’s family had asked her to lie and say the marriage never happened.

This tragic situation continues to raise questions, but Pastor David insists he is innocent and just wants the truth to come out
