Having a child made me appreciate my parents more – Johnny Drille

Nigerian singer John Ighodaro, known as Johnny Drille, recently shared his thoughts about being a parent.

Johnny Drille and his wife, Rima Tahini, welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Amaris Esohe Ighodaro, on November 17, 2023.

In an interview with Dose Of Society, Drille said that becoming a father helped him understand and value his own parents more.

He explained that becoming a parent has changed his life in many ways.

Drille said, “My main rule is to always put family first. No matter where I am in the world, I will drop everything if my family needs me.”

He added that family has always been his main support. Whenever life got too hard, he would turn to his family for comfort, especially his parents. His biggest wish is to care for them and show them the world.

Johnny shared that his parents didn’t have much money when he was growing up. Sometimes, there wasn’t even enough food, but they always found a way to feed the family.

He said his parents made life fun for them, even when it was tough. Now, looking back, he realizes they were protecting him and his siblings from hard times.

Now that Johnny has a daughter, he truly understands what it means to care for someone. This new role makes him respect his parents even more for all they did.

He believes becoming a parent is one of the most amazing experiences, but not talked about enough. He’s thankful to have parents who raised him well, especially in a challenging world.
