Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has made it clear that he is not currently involved in political discussions. He recently reacted to some statements making the rounds, which claimed he was part of ongoing political realignments in Nigeria. In a post shared on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account, he said the statements did not come from him and were completely false.
Kwankwaso described the reports as misleading and the work of political mischief makers. He said the claims were not only untrue but also designed to confuse the public and stir up unnecessary attention around him. According to him, he has chosen to stay silent on political matters for now and will continue to maintain that position.
He also advised Nigerians to ignore any statement that is not released through his official channels. Kwankwaso urged the public to trust only the information that comes directly from his verified handles or other confirmed sources, as this would help stop the spread of fake news.
There have been reports suggesting that Kwankwaso is working with some politicians to help save the country from poor governance. Some of these reports even hinted that he may be part of a coalition being formed by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. However, with his recent statement, Kwankwaso has now put those rumors to rest by confirming that he is not making political moves at this time.
