BREAKING: 2025 UTME: There were errors – JAMB finally admits

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially admitted that there were mistakes made in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). This admission was made by JAMB’s Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, during a press briefing in Abuja on Wednesday.

Prof. Oloyede shared that the mistakes had turned what was meant to be a joyful event into one of disappointment. Despite all efforts to ensure the smooth running of the exam, some errors still happened, affecting the results.

The recognition of these mistakes followed a high number of complaints from candidates. Many students reported discrepancies in their scores after the 2025 UTME results were released. These complaints led to an outcry regarding the fairness of the exam.

In response, JAMB had earlier promised to fix any glitches that might have occurred. They assured the public that they would take immediate action to resolve any errors found in the results and ensure that students’ scores are corrected.

The 2025 UTME results revealed that 78% of the candidates scored below 200 out of the possible 400 points. This, combined with the reported errors, raised more concerns about the accuracy of the exam results.

JAMB has pledged to investigate the issues and take steps to address them so that the affected candidates will receive fair and accurate results.
