Actress Halle Bailey has taken legal action to protect herself from her ex-boyfriend, rapper DDG. She was recently granted a temporary restraining order due to claims of domestic violence. The details were shared in court documents reviewed by E! News.
Halle, best known for her role in The Little Mermaid, has a 17-month-old son named Halo with DDG. In a court filing on May 13, she described a disturbing incident from January. She said DDG allegedly hurt her by slamming her face into a car steering wheel, which left her bruised and caused a chipped tooth. She also said he verbally abused her in front of their son and doesn’t understand how his behavior affects the child.
She also shared other troubling events. Halle said DDG entered her home without her permission, locked her out, took her phone, and threw it from his car. On top of that, she said she started receiving online threats and hateful messages, which she believes came after DDG spoke publicly about her on his social media platforms.
“I’ve done everything I could to avoid taking this to court,” Halle wrote in her statement. “But I can’t live like this anymore. I need to stop the abuse.”
In the past, DDG has claimed that Halle wouldn’t let him see their son. As of now, neither Halle nor DDG’s representatives have responded to requests for comments on the case.
