Two soldiers killed as troops foil terrorists attack on Marte in Borno

Nigerian soldiers stopped a planned attack by ISWAP terrorists in Marte, Borno State, early Monday morning. Thanks to the quick action of the troops, a serious security threat was avoided.

The terrorists tried to invade the town at about 2 a.m. However, the soldiers on duty acted fast. They received support from the Brigade Headquarters, and the Nigerian Air Force also helped by launching airstrikes against the attackers.

The strong and well-organized response made the terrorists flee. They were not able to take control of the town. Sadly, two brave soldiers lost their lives during the fighting, but their sacrifice helped save many others and protect the area.

Before escaping, the terrorists set fire to some damaged military vehicles. They could not steal any weapons or ammunition. Instead, they escaped using a few motorcycles and two vehicles.

Military sources confirmed that Marte is still fully under the control of Nigerian forces. The Brigade Commander is now in the town, checking the situation and making sure the area stays safe.
