I don’t know whether I’ll be in PDP or APC tomorrow – Governor Umo Eno reacts to defection rumours

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has spoken openly about his uncertain political future. He shared this during a Thanksgiving Service held at The Apostolic Church, Maboju Assembly in Lagos. His words have added more fuel to earlier rumors about him possibly leaving his current party.

The governor said he doesn’t know if he will remain in the PDP or join another party like APC or YPP. According to him, political parties are only tools for serving the people and do not define his identity. He promised that no matter which party he belongs to in the future, he will still be a governor who listens to and serves the people. He also made it clear that he is not currently planning to leave any party.

To express his feelings, Governor Eno sang a popular Christian hymn, “Oh, the future lies before me.” The song shows his uncertainty about the future but also his strong faith. The words are based on the Bible verse James 4:14, showing how he compares his political journey to a spiritual path.

Governor Eno also told the people not to be afraid of what’s coming. He reminded everyone that no two elections are the same and that people in politics must understand the times they live in. He talked about the children of Issachar in the Bible, who were known for understanding seasons. He said leaders must be wise like them.

Before ending his message, he gave a spiritual reminder, saying, “He that has ears, let him hear what the Spirit says to the church.” This statement means people should pay close attention to deep spiritual truths.

The governor was not alone at the event. He was joined by his children, political friends, and business leaders. He also talked about his long history with the church. He compared his visit to a moment in the Bible when Jacob returned to Bethel to thank God for His guidance and help.
