KRC Genk’s forward, Tolu Arokodare, has been named the winner of the 2025 Golden Shoe in Belgium. This prestigious award is given to the best African player or player of African descent in the Belgian Pro League.
Arokodare earned the award due to his outstanding performances with Genk during the 2024/25 season. At just 24 years old, he has scored 22 goals and provided 7 assists, making him one of the top players in the league.
He beat out other strong candidates for the award, including Noah Sidiki of Union St.Gilloise, his Genk teammate Zakaria El Ouahdi, Promise David from Union Saint-Gilloise, and Nigerian footballer Raphael Onyedika.
Arokodare’s victory puts him in the company of past winners, including well-known former Super Eagles stars like Daniel Amokachi, Victor Ikpeba, Celestine Babayaro, and Godwin Okpara.
