Professor Pat Utomi, a well-known political economist, has said he is no longer interested in taking part in Nigerian politics or working for the government in any way.

He made this known during an interview on Channels Television’s programme, Politics Today, on Friday.

According to him, he will not accept any government job, appointment, or contract from any Nigerian government.

Utomi said clearly, “I will not run for any political office, and I will not take any role or contract from the government. My only goal now is to help the younger generation succeed.”

He also explained that he has lived his life honestly, without using government money or taking anything that doesn’t belong to him. He added that some people wrongly say he is only interested in getting government contracts, and he wants to prove them wrong by staying away from politics.
