Nigerians have started sharing old pictures of the new Pope during his past visit to Nigeria.

Robert Francis Prevost, who became Pope Leo XIV on May 8, visited Nigeria several years ago. During that trip, he took many photos, and now those pictures are being shared widely.

Back then, he was the leader of the Order of Saint Augustine. He came to Nigeria to meet and spend time with fellow Augustinian brothers.

As people all over the world celebrate him as the new Pope, many Nigerians are proudly sharing photos of his visit to the country when he was still a Cardinal.
