Nigerian father warns women against marrying a man who expects them to pause their careers and take care of the home alone

A Nigerian father has given strong advice to women, telling them not to pause their careers just to take care of the home and children alone.

He explained that except for pregnancy and giving birth, there is no housework or parenting task that a man cannot do too. In his view, both husband and wife should share responsibilities at home.

The father stressed that raising kids and managing the household should not fall only on women. He said some men expect their wives to take a long break—sometimes up to 7 years—from their careers, and he believes this is unfair.

He shared his personal story, saying he is very involved in his children’s lives. He helps at home and supports his wife, showing that parenting should be a team effort.

This came after internet personality Solomon Buchi suggested that women should pause their careers for 7 years to raise their kids. The Nigerian father disagreed with that idea and felt it was time to speak up.

In today’s world, many women want to grow in their careers while also being good mothers. This father’s message reminds everyone that both parents need to work together to build a happy and balanced home.
