God did not create man to be a lover. He made him to be a provider – Reno Omokri

Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide and popular social commentator, recently shared his thoughts on the role of men in relationships. According to him, men were not created just to be romantic or emotional lovers. Instead, their main role is to be providers.

In a post he made on X (formerly Twitter), Reno said that when a man takes care of his partner or family by meeting their needs, he is already showing love. He believes that love is not only about feelings or sweet words—it is also shown through action, especially by providing.

Reno also pointed out that love by itself is not enough to make a marriage work. In his view, a man must show love by providing for his home, and that is a big part of what makes relationships and marriages strong.

His opinion has sparked discussions online, with some agreeing and others sharing different views. But Reno stands firm on his belief that real love from a man includes being a provider.

‘’Love is NEVER sufficient to build a marriage. There are other more important things. Like emotional maturity and financial stability. A marriage without love can last if there is maturity and fiscal strength. But it cannot last if there is love without money and being emotionally hardy. Look back to your grandparents. Were they in love? But their marriage lasted eighty years. God did not create man to be a lover. He made him to be a provider. By providing money, he also provides love! ‘’
