Veteran Nollywood actor, Tito Harrison, recently talked about a very difficult time in his life when he was seriously sick and had no money left. He revealed how he had to give up everything he owned just to pay for treatment.
During a heartfelt chat on Biola Bayo’s podcast, Harrison shared that he sold his house, car, and other valuables to cover his hospital bills. Eventually, he and his wife had no choice but to move into his mother-in-law’s house because they couldn’t afford rent anymore.
Harrison said his wife was the only one who truly stood by him throughout the crisis. While others walked away, she stayed strong and supported him. He called her his biggest blessing and said he would choose her again if he had to live life all over.
“When I was down with liver problems and a serious ulcer, my wife never left me. I had to sell everything for hospital bills. When we couldn’t pay rent anymore, we moved in with my mother-in-law. If I come back to this world again, I’ll still marry my wife,” he said.
Sadly, Harrison also mentioned that some people in the film industry made fun of his situation instead of helping him. He felt hurt that some colleagues would rather shame him publicly than support him.
He recalled one interview where someone said, “Tito Harrison is finished. He now lives in his wife’s mother’s house.” Harrison said even if it’s true, people shouldn’t say such things. “If you can’t help, don’t spoil my name,” he added.
