Abia teaching job: Applicants with forged documents to face prosecution – Ministry

The Abia State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has announced exciting news for applicants of the 5,000 teaching jobs in the state. Starting May 19, successful candidates will be able to print their appointment letters directly from the recruitment portal.

Along with this announcement, the Ministry also addressed concerns about applicants who were disqualified. Those who did not meet the age requirements or had issues with their certificates will now have a chance to provide valid proof and have their applications reconsidered.

In an official statement signed by Uzoamaka Amah-Mbah, the Chairman of the recruitment committee, the Ministry made it clear that anyone who believes they were wrongly disqualified should take action. May 14 and 15 have been set as the official dates for recertification, and applicants must bring their original academic certificates and NYSC documents to the Ministry’s office.

However, the Ministry also issued a stern warning. Anyone who cannot provide valid evidence or who attempts to submit fake documents will face legal consequences. These individuals will be reported to the relevant authorities and may be prosecuted.

Additionally, the panel made it clear that statements of results from applicants who graduated more than five years ago will not be accepted.

This new step is aimed at ensuring a transparent and fair recruitment process for teaching jobs in Abia State.
