EFCC denies confirming and giving reasons for VDM’s arrest

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied reports from the BBC about the arrest of VDM. The BBC had initially shared news that Dele Oyewale, the spokesperson for EFCC, confirmed that VDM was detained due to several petitions against him. According to their report, VDM was supposed to face charges in court soon.

However, the EFCC quickly responded to the report, calling it fake news. The agency stated on its official Instagram account that the BBC’s story about VDM’s arrest and court arraignment was untrue, and no official statement was made regarding his detention.
