EPL: Guardiola rates Man City’s chances of qualifying for Champions League

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed optimism about their chances of qualifying for the Champions League after a narrow 1-0 win against Wolves on Friday night.

The decisive moment came in the first half when Kevin De Bruyne delivered a clinical finish from a low cross by Jeremy Doku. De Bruyne, who is expected to leave City at the end of the season, made his mark in what could be one of his final games for the club.

With this victory, Manchester City climbed to third place on the Premier League table, securing 64 points with three matches left to play. The team has gained momentum at a crucial time, thanks to their consistency and key players stepping up.

Speaking to the BBC after the match, Guardiola reflected on their recent form, saying, “We’ve improved a lot compared to weeks ago. Winning five or six games in a row while other teams drop points has helped us significantly.”

Despite the positive trajectory, Guardiola urged his players not to lose focus. “If we keep performing like today, that’s great, but there’s no room for complacency. Victories like this remind us there’s still hard work ahead,” he added.

Manchester City fans will be eager to see their team maintain this form as they approach the season’s final stretch, aiming to secure their spot in next year’s Champions League.
