Trump nominates Hermandorfer as US appeals court judge, makes 8 new appointments [Full list]

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has announced new appointments, including the nomination of Whitney Hermandorfer to the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Trump shared the news on his Truth Social account on Thursday night. He said Hermandorfer has been serving in the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office, where she has helped protect people from what he calls government overreach.

He highlighted her background as a former co-captain of Princeton University’s women’s basketball team and a strong supporter of girls’ and women’s sports. Trump also said she has worked for judges and Supreme Court justices who value the U.S. Constitution and the rule of law—such as Justice Samuel Alito and two Supreme Court Justices Trump appointed during his first term.

“Whitney is a fighter who will inspire confidence in our legal system,” Trump said.

In a separate message, Trump announced the appointment of eight new members to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council. The new appointees are:

  • Betty Schwartz
  • Fred Marcus
  • Rabbi Pinchos Lipschutz
  • Sid Rosenberg
  • Ariel Abergel
  • Barbara Feingold
  • Alex Witkoff
  • Robert Garson

Trump said the Council plays a key role in remembering the Holocaust and honoring those who lost their lives. He wrote, “This Council has the important task of preserving the memories and stories of the loved ones whose lives were robbed in one of the darkest moments in history. NEVER FORGET!”
