Nigerian singer Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, also known as Spyro, has once again shared his thoughts about how his generation views success. In a recent post, Spyro, who often calls himself “Jesus Boy,” criticized the way people today celebrate wealth that comes from sinful or dishonest actions.
He shared a video of a pastor who also spoke about the same issue. The pastor warned against praising people, including politicians, who became rich in the wrong way. Spyro agrees with the message and feels sad that many young people now respect money more than values or how the money was made.
Spyro wants his generation to remember God and live in a way that pleases Him, instead of giving glory to success that comes from sin.
In the video, the cleric said,
‘’This Christianity that any politician that comes we give him a microphone on the pulpit, is not a standard in the bible. This thing that my generation celebrates that somebody is not a child of God but anything that happens to their life they would say it is God…we have come to the point that even when somebody’s life is wrong but because they have the things we call result, we are willing to appropriate their results to God and forgive their immoral lifestyle is the way of God.”
Reacting to this post, Spyro agreed with it and wrote
‘’Too profound, my generation steady calling God’s name on what was achieved in SIN..HMM”
