Famous actor Robert De Niro has spoken out in support of his daughter, Airyn, who recently came out as a transgender woman.
The 81-year-old actor, known for winning two Oscars, shared a touching message just one day after Airyn made her announcement. In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, De Niro said, “I loved and supported Aaron as my son, and now I love and support Airyn as my daughter. I don’t know what the big deal is … I love all my children.”
Airyn, who is 29 years old, started hormone therapy last year. She recently spoke about her journey in an interview with a well-known LGBTQ+ magazine.
Airyn and her twin brother Julian were born to De Niro and actress Toukie Smith, who dated from 1988 to 1996.
De Niro’s kind words show his full support and love for Airyn as she lives her truth.
