May Day: Workers are Nigeria’s backbone for development – First Lady, Tinubu

On this year’s Workers’ Day, Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has shown appreciation to workers all over the country. In her message to mark the day, she called Nigerian workers the backbone of national development and the main drivers of the country’s progress.

She said that May Day is a special time to reflect on the importance of hard work and to renew efforts toward building a fair society where everyone has equal opportunities.

“On this special Workers’ Day, I send my heartfelt thanks to all Nigerian workers for your dedication to building our nation,” she said. “Your daily efforts help grow our economy and keep the country moving forward.”

The First Lady also stressed the value of labour, saying that every worker—whether in the public or private sector, formal or informal—is essential to Nigeria’s growth.

She ended her message by wishing every worker a joyful celebration and praying for Nigeria’s continued success and progress.
