The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Thursday, May 1, 2025, a public holiday in celebration of Workers’ Day.
This was announced by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement released on Tuesday. He commended Nigerian workers for their hard work, commitment, and sacrifices, recognizing their efforts as key to the country’s development at home and abroad.
The minister emphasized that peace and security are essential for Nigeria’s industrial and economic growth. He encouraged workers to continue being productive and innovative, noting that there is dignity in labor and that everyone’s contribution plays an important role in building the nation.
He also reassured citizens that the Tinubu-led administration is fully committed to improving the lives of Nigerians through the Renewed Hope Agenda. He urged everyone to remain hopeful and support efforts that will move the country forward.
Tunji-Ojo concluded by wishing all workers a happy Workers’ Day and encouraged them to keep giving their best to help Nigeria succeed.
