The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Thursday, May 1, 2025, a public holiday to celebrate this year’s Workers’ Day.
This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement released by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo praised Nigerian workers for their hard work and dedication. He said that their efforts have helped make Nigeria a respected nation. He reminded everyone that there is dignity in labour and that being committed to work is important for building the country.
He encouraged workers to be more innovative and productive, which will help improve governance and ensure that all Nigerians benefit from the country’s resources.
The Minister also said the government is working hard to keep everyone safe, including both citizens and foreigners.
As Nigerians celebrate Workers’ Day, Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged people to remain hopeful. He assured the public that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is focused on delivering its “Renewed Hope Agenda.”
