Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has received good news before their Europa League semi-final match against Athletic Bilbao. Two key players, Amad Diallo and Matthijs de Ligt, are back in training after injuries.
Diallo hurt his ankle in February and hasn’t played since. At first, it looked like he might miss the rest of the season. But now, there is hope that he could play in some of the last games of the season. He probably won’t play in the first leg against Bilbao in Spain, but he might be ready for the second leg at Old Trafford on May 8.
De Ligt, who had an ankle injury earlier this month during a loss to Nottingham Forest, is also back in training. Amorim said the Dutch defender is “close” to returning and might play in the game in Bilbao on Thursday.
With these two players possibly returning, Amorim has more options as United try to reach the Europa League final and qualify for next season’s Champions League.
