A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to release a well-known businesswoman and socialite, Aisha Achimugu, within 24 hours.
Justice Inyang Ekwo gave the ruling on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. The court instructed the EFCC to ensure that she is set free and also directed all parties involved to return to court on May 2, 2025, to confirm that the order has been followed.
Aisha Achimugu was arrested by EFCC officials on Tuesday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja. She was brought before the court earlier on Wednesday, where the judge made the decision for her immediate release.
The case has drawn public attention, especially due to Aisha’s social status and the swift court intervention.
We will keep following the story and provide updates as more details emerge.
