Nigerian parents don’t scold children who are breadwinners – Rema claims

Popular Nigerian singer, Rema, has shared an interesting view about Nigerian parents. He said that parents in Nigeria don’t usually scold their children if they are the ones supporting the family with money.

Rema made this comment while speaking with content creator Enzo. During their chat, Rema encouraged Enzo to get a tattoo. But Enzo said his mother wouldn’t allow him to do that. He also said that when he braided his hair once, his mother didn’t speak to him for days.

In response, Rema told him not to worry and advised him to work harder and earn more. He said, “Wait till you cash out big. Nigerian parents don’t advise breadwinners.”

Rema shared that he became the breadwinner of his family when he was a teenager after his father passed away. He said he made his first million naira at the age of 17 and gave all the money to his mother.

According to Rema, once a child becomes the one bringing in money, Nigerian parents tend to overlook certain choices they may not agree with, like hairstyles or tattoos.
