Nigerian Man Arrested in India After One-Year Drug Trafficking Investigation

A 30-year-old Nigerian man named Ezeonyili Franklin Uchenna, also known as Kaleshi, has been arrested in India by the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau (TGANB). He had been on the run for over a year before he was finally caught in Hyderabad.

The police said that Kaleshi came to Hyderabad in September 2022 to help a drug dealer, Divine Ebuka Suzee, and his brother, Uche Happiness. His main job was to collect drugs from a woman named Joana Gomes, who brought them from New Delhi, and deliver them to local customers.

He was arrested while waiting to meet a customer near a place called Taramati Baradari. Before this, the police had already arrested two of his Nigerian partners — Ugwu Ikechukwu (also known as Emma) and Chukwu Ogbonna (also known as Big Joe) earlier this month.

When the police searched Kaleshi, they found a pen drive with many important documents, including travel plans, bank information, and photos of drugs. One document showed that 411 African nationals had contributed Rs 9.42 crore (Indian rupees) to the illegal drug business.

The pen drive also had WhatsApp messages, pictures of drugs, and visa-related files.

The police are continuing their investigation into this international drug network.
