Meghan Markle hits back after being called out for using HRH title despite agreement with Queen

Meghan Markle is facing backlash after a gift card she sent to a friend included her royal title, “HRH The Duchess of Sussex.” This caused a stir because Meghan and Prince Harry agreed with Queen Elizabeth in 2020 that they would stop using their “His/Her Royal Highness” (HRH) titles after stepping down as senior royals.

The issue came up during a podcast interview where Jamie Kern Lima showed a photo of a gift basket Meghan had sent. The card with the basket, which had homemade treats, included the HRH title.

Many were surprised because, according to the couple’s earlier statement, they would not actively use their HRH titles since they were no longer working members of the Royal Family. At the time, their website said they would still formally have the HRH titles but would not use them in public.

After the photo went viral, Meghan’s team responded. They said the card was sent before Meghan launched her new business, “As Ever,” and that she does not use the HRH title for business or public purposes.

However, the image suggests Meghan may still use the title in private or with friends, which has led to public criticism.

This situation has once again put Meghan and Harry in the spotlight, especially about how they balance their royal past with their current lives.
