Troops of the Nigerian Army, working with other security forces, rescued six people from kidnappers in Taraba State. Among those saved was a senior officer from the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
The rescue happened after a local youth leader, Abe Samuel, called for help around 11:40 p.m. on April 27, 2025. He reported that a Toyota Hilux was attacked along the Wukari–Kente Road.
When the soldiers arrived, they found the vehicle with a flat tire and no one inside. A joint team quickly began searching the area.
By 6:00 a.m. the next day, they found all six people, including NDLEA Deputy Commander of Zone 1, Ibadan, Musa Hudu, hiding in a nearby bush. Thankfully, everyone was safe and unhurt.
The victims said they had run into the bush after three armed men attacked them and fired a dane gun. The army fixed the damaged vehicle and helped the victims continue their journey.
