A terrible incident happened on Sunday evening, April 27, 2025, in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State. Gunmen, believed to be cult members, attacked a popular bar in the Akpehe area around 8 p.m., opening fire on customers.

Eyewitnesses said the shooting caused panic, with people running in different directions to save their lives. The attack lasted only a few minutes but sadly led to the deaths of four people. Several others were injured and are now receiving treatment at a hospital.

One of the victims was identified as Gabriel Terfa Gugur, known for calling himself a “Kiddwaya celebrity look-alike.”

After the shooting, security forces arrived at the scene and secured the area. The police spokesperson, Sewuese Catherine, confirmed the attack and said investigations are already ongoing to find those responsible.

This shocking event has left the community in fear as residents call for better security measures.
