“There’s No Shame in Retirement”- TBaj tells top gun musicians

Former BBNaija star and media personality, Tolani Baj, has sparked a big conversation in the music industry. She recently shared her opinion about older musicians who are still trying to compete in today’s fast-changing music world.

According to TBaj, there’s nothing wrong with retiring or changing paths. She wondered why many old-school artists find it hard to know when it’s time to move on. TBaj said that growing as an artist doesn’t always mean chasing new hits. Sometimes, it means stepping into new roles like starting a business, mentoring younger artists, or taking leadership positions in the industry.

She said, “If your sound no longer connects with your fans or feels outdated, it’s better to move into business.”

Tolani Baj praised Olamide and Don Jazzy for showing how OGs should act. Both have become music leaders, helping new talents grow and building their empires behind the scenes.

TBaj also didn’t hold back when talking about the quality of music from some older artists today. She questioned why musicians with great past songs allow fans to pressure them into releasing music that doesn’t match their past success.

She said, “There’s no shame in retiring. Stop releasing bad music that damages your brand, especially when your earlier songs were top-notch.”

TBaj’s message is clear: It’s better to protect your legacy than to chase trends that don’t fit you anymore.
