Former Arsenal star Emmanuel Petit has spoken out in defense of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) winger Ousmane Dembele, ahead of PSG’s big Champions League game against Arsenal.

Some fans have been criticizing Dembele for his recent form, as he hasn’t scored or assisted in the last four matches. However, Petit thinks these worries are unnecessary.

Dembele has had a great season overall, helping PSG win the French league with 32 goals and 11 assists in 43 matches. Speaking on the Rothen s’enflamme podcast, Petit reminded everyone of Dembele’s recent key contributions.

“In the Champions League quarter-finals, he gave assists in both games. What more do people want?” Petit said.

He added, “Not even two weeks ago, he was very important in the game against Aston Villa. Now people are only talking about the match against Nantes. It’s too much.”

As the Champions League showdown with Arsenal approaches, it’s worth noting that Arsenal have only lost one match in the tournament this season.
